Overview

The Adjunct Faculty in Arts & Health Sciences has the primary responsibility of teaching disciplinary or interdisciplinary courses for the general education curriculum in an online or hybrid format, capable of being fully delivered asynchronously or semi-synchronously to students in off-campus locations. 

Responsibilities*

• Develop and/ or teach 7-week and/or 10-week Arts & Health Sciences courses.  
• Design and archive all course materials online, in the College’s LMS, and the Division-wide shared cloud space and the college’s administrator will provide a standard syllabus and some course materials, but the faculty is expected to tailor the materials to fit the course SLOs, the needs of the students enrolled in the course, and the individual faculty’s teaching methods and areas of expertise.
• Conform to best practices standards and guidelines, as set forth by, but not limited to, the AAC&U and other relevant discipline-specific professional societies. 
• Maintain and keep visible all course materials for approximately three years. 
• Respond to student questions and concerns in an appropriate format within 24 hours during the work week. 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

• Adjunct Faculty are welcome, but not required, to attend College and Division faculty meetings and Professional Development opportunities as appropriate. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Healthcare, or a closely related field 
• Minimum of 2 semesters of college-level online teaching experience in a healthcare related field
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt to new online systems and procedures quickly and efficiently
• Ability to develop and deliver high-impact, engaging electronic course materials

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with eLearning  and Brightspace
