The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking a YourPace Enrollment and Academic Success Coach.   The YourPace Enrollment and Academic Success Coach plays a key role in supporting students enrolled in UMPI’s flexible, competency-based YourPace program. This student-centered position guides learners from initial enrollment through graduation, providing proactive outreach, academic coaching, and personalized support. Coaches monitor academic progress, assist with course enrollment, and help students navigate university systems, policies, and technology. By building strong relationships and collaborating with faculty and staff, Coaches promote student engagement, remove barriers to success, and foster a positive, empowering learning experience that supports timely degree completion.

Work is conducted in a collaborative environment, with remote, hybrid, or in-person work options determined in consultation with the successful candidate. Occasional travel to campus may be required for training or events. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST and will require some nights and weekends. 

For remote work arrangements, the selected candidate must provide proof of a stable and reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps. Hotspots are not acceptable for this position. Employees approved for remote or hybrid work will also be required to complete a Remote Work Agreement Form annually.

The salary for this full time job is $45,300.00. The university will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion depending on skills and experience. Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or three to five years of experience in a professional setting.
  • Background in one or more of the following areas:
    • Customer service, sales, or client relations
    • Education, including admissions, tutoring, advising, or counseling
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and build positive, supportive relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and related software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace).
  • Ability to effectively use communication and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom).
  • Technology requirements for remote work: Stable, high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps; hotspots are not acceptable).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in a professional or educational setting.
  • Experience working with adult learners.
  • Familiarity with University of Maine systems and technologies, including MaineStreet and educational platforms such as Brightspace.
