Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Admissions Coordinator to join our team at our skilled nursing facility. Prior experience in a skilled nursing setting and a strong understanding of traditional Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, and the pre-certification process for admissions and Part B therapy services is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the admissions process, ensuring a smooth transition for residents and families.
- Communicate effectively with hospitals, case managers, insurance providers, and internal departments.
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary pre-certifications for admissions and therapy services.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all admissions-related activities.
- Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and facility staff to ensure a positive admission experience.
- Monitor bed availability and collaborate with clinical staff to assess appropriate placement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations regarding admissions.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, social work, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in admissions within a skilled nursing or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Experience with pre-certification processes for admissions and Part B therapy services.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with hospital discharge planning and referral systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Compassionate approach to working with elderly residents and their families.
