About the Department
Job Description:
This is an advanced/complex Journeyman position in our HVAC department. This position installs, repairs, and makes adjustments & modifications to HVAC & refrigeration electronic & pneumatic control systems including preventative maintenance duties.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs preventative maintenance duties such as changing & adjusting belts, and service HVAC equipment with lubricants and chemicals. Using the HVAC control program insures that actuators open/close and motors starts/stops & rotates properly.-30%
This position requires working independently with minimal supervision to investigate make general repairs to buildings' air conditioning/heating systems and other related mechanical equipment such as freezers, fans, etc.-25%
Performs technical repairs and complex diagnostic analysis to all types of HVAC and refrigeration control systems including inspections and preventative maintenance. Insures proper interfacing between electrical and temperature control systems with proper interlocks, relays, etc.-20%
Installs, replaces, adjusts and calibrates major components of refrigeration units: compressors, condensers, expansion valves, service values, thermostats, coils and drive assemblies.-10%
Performs air balancing as required to achieve desired comfort levels.-5%
Overhauls and repairs pumps, motors, control systems, piping and other equipment used in refrigerating and air conditioning systems.-5%
Performs other duties as assigned by the Department including on-call and emergency work when required - 5%
Additional Information
1) This position is considered emergency essential and may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.
2) This position requires a valid driver's license, will require an MVR, and is subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04
3) This position is classified as a safety and security-sensitive position. These positions are subject to drug screens per PS-67/FASOP HR-04.
4) This position will require a physical evaluation based on the physical demands required.
Position Duties
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:
Three years of experience or training in the installation or maintenance of pneumatic, electrical, or electronic control systems for heating (including boiler), ventilating, or air conditioning systems.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Driver's license
