Program Associate and Driver

The Program Associate and Driver coordinates safe and professional food distribution across assigned sites, ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining accurate records, facilitating communication, and supporting operations through travel and special projects.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily food distribution to assigned sites. Follows all safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines.        

  • Drives agency vehicle safely, reports issues promptly. Acts as liaison between drivers and agency sites.       

  • Maintains accurate records per organization and regulatory standards. Handles food delivery inquiries for assigned sites.            

  • Works professionally with staff and partners. Complies with all relevant laws and policies.

  • Travels between sites and fills in as needed. Completes assigned special projects.

  • Willingness to travel between sites and work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Relevant Education:

Minimum: High School Degree/GED

Preferred: N/A

 

Relevant Experience:

Minimum: 1-2 years of experience

Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Experience with performance evaluation and staff development.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze data and generate reports for program improvement.

Preferred: 3-5 years of experience 

Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry systems (e.g., Link2Feed).
Understanding of food safety and sanitation principles and special dietary needs.
Familiarity with local routes and efficient use of navigation apps or GPS.
Flexibility to work indifferent weather conditions and adapt to traffic changing patterns.
Ability to handle unexpected situations or client concerns. 

Capability to work collaboratively with volunteers, staff members, and other stakeholders.

 

Certification/Licensure:

Minimum: Must obtain a valid Food Handler Certification License within one year of hire.

Preferred: Possession of a current and valid Food Handler Certification License at the time of hire.
