The Employee Relations Director provides strategic direction, consultative recommendations and support for the employee relations function at Orlando Health.
They promote positive employee relations throughout the organization by ensuring development and implementation of consistent and equitable processes, providing guidance on best practices, identifying solutions, diffusing issues to mitigate risk, and maintaining legal compliance.

Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Provides vision and critical leadership to manage the Employee Relations function in support of the values, mission, and culture of Orlando Health, and to ensure alignment of process, communication and policy.
- Develops strong working relationship with site administrative teams and corporate leadership, partnering with these teams on strategic initiatives.
- Works in partnership with the leadership of the organization in anticipating the impact of employee relations needs on future Orlando Health strategies and goals.
- Fosters a positive employee relations environment which drives engagement, inclusion, and ensures working environment free from harassment.
- Ensures that the strategic business functions of Orlando Health are supported by the appropriate information, measurements and accountability of case management tracking system.
- Develops & implements proposals for programs, projects, and initiatives in conjunction with site human resources and operational leadership teams to facilitate strategic objectives.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends, pending legislation, and regulatory standards.
- Monitors and analyzes the employee relations compliance of the organization and reports on system progress and trends.
- Partners with site human resources in managing change to foster team member and leadership acceptance and support.
- Manages employee relations team, to include follow-up actions on a timely basis ensuring that all matters are handled promptly.
- Supports and coaches team to encourage continual education and awareness of relevant trends and legal developments in support of advancing team member knowledge and consulting expertise.
- Provides direction and collaborates with legal team, site and corporate human resources to proactively identify risks, diffuse concerns, provide employee and management consultation, conduct investigations, and resolve issues as they arise, escalating
matters to senior leadership as appropriate. - Presents employee relations data and analytics to site human resources.
- Serves as an escalation point for complex employee relations issues by leading or assisting with investigations, utilizing strong negotiation, conflict resolution, mediation skills, and experience.
- Reviews the impact of the employee relations function and develops recommendations to address facility and organizational training needs.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education/Training
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Preferably in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
Licensure/Certification
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification Preferred.
Experience
- Seven years of successful employee relations leadership experience at a large-sized organization, healthcare or service industry experience preferred.
- Must have significant exposure to a variety of human resources areas including, but not limited to, employee relations, communications, strategic planning, and implementation.
