About the Department

The Housing Assistant reports to the Director of Student Housing and works with the entire Student Housing Team to support the day-to-day operations of Student Housing.

Position Duties

• Walk and inspect residence halls regularly to check cleanliness, safety, furniture conditions, and proper signage
• Check and update signage throughout residence halls buildings as directed
• Follow up on submitted facility work requests and communicate updates to appropriate staff
• Assist with campus recruitment events, including setup, event support, and tear-down
• Move and transport supplies, equipment, and other materials across campus as needed
• Provide general support to the Office of Student Housing
• Willing to participate in photo/video shoots for University marketing purposes in the residence halls and assist in recruiting students in the hall to participate
• Assist the marketing department with accessing the residence hall for building photo/video shoots and recruit show rooms as needed
• Routinely pushes, lifts and carries materials weighing 20 pounds
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student. (At least 12 credit hours)
• Must maintain a 2.5 term and cumulative GPA
• Currently living in BGSU on-campus housing
• Cannot currently be, or be placed on Resident or University Student Conduct Probation or Academic Probation
