Job Summary
The incumbent will direct and oversee the work of the finance-related research application systems team, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines, and fostering team collaboration through daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings. They will work directly with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored infrastructure solutions, leading consultations to gather requirements, offer expert advice, and ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, they will collaborate with departmental IT resources and central IT teams to coordinate support and integrate solutions across research areas. The Information System Analyst 4, Lead will develop and implement strategic plans for research finance application systems, aligning technical solutions with business needs and security requirements, and analyzing complex issues to recommend appropriate actions and strategies.
In addition, to their leadership, they will participate as a contributor to the team and will create comprehensive system documentation to aid users in managing and utilizing the software services and systems, providing training and support to ensure stakeholders are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools. The incumbent will be the technical administrator for the systems they are assigned to oversee and support. Furthermore, they will engage with various members of the ARS team, Research Infrastructure Teams, and Central IT to ensure cohesive and integrated service delivery, working closely with UCSF’s Security, Networking, Infrastructure, Ethics, and Compliance teams to ensure all solutions adhere to institutional policies and standards. Through their expertise and leadership, the Information System Analyst 4, Lead will drive the success of UCSF’s research initiatives by delivering innovative, efficient, and secure infrastructure solutions.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $138,400 - $207,600 (Annual Rate).

- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Five or more years of systems analyst experience in an academic or health care enterprise
- Advanced skills associated with information system design, modification, and implementation. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution. Knowledge necessary to design, set up, operate, and correct malfunctions involving technology systems. Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination, and analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.. Knowledge of the design, development, and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
- Demonstrated experience with database administration. Advanced knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to highly complex database system design. Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases. Knowledge of conceptual database design. Skills necessary to develop procedures and standards relating to database management systems. Skills associated with implementing database enhancements that improve performance and reliability of the system at the software, hardware and operating system level.
