Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key leadership role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of Homewood Mountain Resort’s facilities. This position oversees the housekeeping team, ensuring all public areas, restrooms, and internal office spaces meet company standards. The Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, training, quality control, and communicating with other departments to uphold a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role requires hands-on cleaning duties as well as administrative oversight.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations and staff assignments.
- Train new team members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and company standards.
- Inspect public areas, restrooms, and office spaces to ensure cleanliness meets departmental checklists.
- Work with the Facility Maintenance Lead to monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; request replenishments as needed.
- Ensure proper and safe use of chemicals and protective equipment.
- Address and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Assist with cleaning duties including vacuuming, trash removal, dusting, disinfecting, and snow shoveling when needed.
- Maintain records of completed tasks, inspections, and staff performance as needed.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules and respond to special requests.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional guest service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands. Exposure to harsh weather, wet/humid conditions, chemicals, and loud noise. Must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, and bend.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull as needed (up to 25 lbs).
- Must be able to work in the United States and meet criminal background standards.
- Valid Class C driver’s license and insurable under company policy.
- Fluent in English; additional languages desirable.
- Professional appearance and ability to wear a uniform.
- Enjoys serving people and fostering a positive work environment.
Preferred:
- Previous supervisory experience in housekeeping or facilities management.
- High School Diploma or GED.
