Mitchell College seeks to hire a student-centered early career professor to serve as Assistant or Associate Professor of Sport Management. The successful candidate will serve as curriculum subject matter expert for Sport Management in collaboration with faculty across the Division of Business. The Sport Management program is under the Division of Business and Sport Management faculty reports to the Division Chair.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 24 semester hours per academic year.
- Serve as the Sport Management curriculum subject matter expert.
- Assisting building the schedule of Sport Management classes each semester and hiring part-time Sport Management faculty.
- Participate in student recruitment and retention activities.
- Work to achieve excellence in three criteria: Teaching & Mentoring, Professional Development Activities, College Involvement and Service to the Community.
- Fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a faculty member as defined in the Master Contract (American Federation of Teachers, Local #3249).
Required Education and Experience:
- An earned doctorate in business, management, or a related field, from an accredited institution, along with a masters degree related to the business of sports.
- Demonstrated successful teaching at the college level.
- Experience developing and revising curriculum.
- Experience assessing student learning outcomes.
- Work experience in a management or professional capacity, ideally related to the business of sports.
- Preference for candidates who have experience in and passion for working with diverse learners.
