Job Summary
The Inside Salesperson is responsible for serving as the first point of contact for clients, especially new clients. This is an in-house role requiring someone who is highly personable, organized, detail-oriented, and exceptional at managing both customer-facing and behind-the-scenes responsibilities. The goals for this position to manage incoming inquiries and increase new customer retention.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Sales
- Respond promptly and professionally to inbound calls, emails, website inquiries, and walk-ins·
- Engage with clients to understand their event and rental needs
- Accurately recording detailed client, billing, event, and venue information for order entry
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of available inventory
- Identify and suggest additional products or services that may enhance the client’s rental experience
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, vendors, and venues to foster repeat business, new leads, and referrals.
Order Management
- Prepare and present accurate quotes
- Generate and maintain accurate rental orders and contracts
- Work with the Inventory department to find solutions to overbookings and sub-rentals
- Process payments for cash on delivery (COD) accounts·
- Work with the Accounting department on remit accounts, credits, & outstanding payments
Warehouse & Logistics
- Work with the Warehouse, Logistics department & Will Call departments to arrange for timely deliveries, set-ups, and pick-ups
- Promote a safe work environment for our employees by identifying and addressing safety concerns for deliveries, set-ups, and pick-ups
- Secure permits, certificates of insurance, and other regulatory requirements as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a relevant field preferred
- 3 years of event planning and office administration required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly creative and excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Able to work independently or on a team, depending on the situation/project
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude under pressure and deadlines
