Job Summary


As an Architect you play a key role in the design and development of large-scale industrial and commercial facilities. This position combines architectural and engineering principles to create efficient, safe, and functional spaces that support operational needs and reflect company standards. Working under the direction of the Senior VP, Director of Design, Planning & Construction, this role is responsible for developing project concepts, conducting site and feasibility analyses, and producing detailed design plans that comply with all applicable codes and regulations.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in architectural design for industrial environments, proficiency in modeling and design software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients throughout all project phases.



Key Responsibilities



Project Planning & Design

  • Develop conceptual and detailed architectural plans for industrial, commercial, and mixed-use facilities.
  • Translate functional requirements into efficient and aesthetically cohesive designs.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and design documents that meet technical and regulatory standards.



Site Analysis & Feasibility

  • Conduct site evaluations, zoning research, and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.
  • Assess environmental, logistical, and regulatory factors affecting site development.
  • Support the due diligence process through documentation and design input.



Technical Expertise

  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and ADA and sustainability requirements.
  • Coordinate with structural, civil, and MEP engineers to integrate architectural and engineering systems.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and industrial facility design standards.



Client & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Participate in client meetings to gather requirements, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and construction managers to ensure design intent is realized during implementation.
  • Support project documentation, permitting, and review processes.



Software & Modeling

  • Utilize advanced modeling and visualization tools (such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar software) to develop and present design solutions.
  • Produce accurate digital and physical models for internal and client review.
  • Maintain drawing and design files in accordance with company standards.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Licensed Architect
  • 5+ years of experience in architectural design, preferably within industrial, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard design software.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, and construction documentation.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to work primarily from an office Environment and Travel as needed
