Role

The Head of Risk, Data & Feeds, is responsible for providing effective second line risk oversight for the Data & Feeds business within the Data & Analytics (D&A) Division. This comprises three material areas of risk focus; the Real-Time product and estate (including Pricing & Reference Services and Quant Data Solutions), Data Platform (with critical Data-as-a-Service – DaaS, Content and DBOR transformation components) and the Data Strategy & Management (DSM) function – responsible for Data Strategy and Data Rights management. This will also involve developing a product-led view of the Data & Feeds verticals encompassing Content Operations, Amplify, Customer Operations (Service & Incident Management) and the Microsoft Partnership. In addition, this will extend to engaging with all aspects of strategy, transformation and wider change initiatives horizontally across D&A as applicable and in partnership with the Heads of Risk for the other coverage areas that constitute the D&A business. The role will provide advice, analysis and challenge to ensure that all risks within the business are appropriately identified, assessed, monitored and managed in line with its risk appetite.  The successful candidate will also contribute to ensuring that effective risk management processes are properly embedded in business activities and adopt a strategic oversight role aligned with the forward Risk Vision and drive towards a more Strategic Risk Management approach.

Critical to success is maintaining strong stakeholder engagement across the business, Group Risk and other associated units, including Engineering, Operations and Corporate Functions. The role is responsible for ensuring that risk initiatives have full buy-in from senior management and appropriately address the business’ needs. This includes helping to ensure that governance and reporting are properly embedded and recognised as providing suitable, insightful and efficient mechanisms that help facilitate appropriate risk-based decision making. As LSEG moves towards a more product-led construct and looks to drive efficiencies around New Product approvals and the Product Lifecycle (PLM) development (initiation to decommissioning) – this role will be a key contributor in helping drive and shape these efficiencies within the right guard-rails.

The successful candidate will be a direct report to the CRO, Data & Analytics, Group Sales, Group Operations, FTSE Russell and Risk Intelligence and is responsible for managing a team of several risk managers with expert domain knowledge. Given the materiality of initiatives in this space this will also require close collaboration with other Group Risk colleagues supporting the D&A team within Group Risk - Technology, Cyber and Data Risk management functions.
