The proposed salary range for this position is: $103,800 - $218,100
The Opportunity:
The company is looking for a seasoned IT professional to support FOIA case management and other information access solutions who ideally has experience supporting system Operation and Maintenance in a customer environment. This on-site support specialist is responsible for monitoring system operation, troubleshooting issues impacting system operation and performance, and supporting the correction and enhancement of the system’s software modules and other work products to meet customer’s business requirements for new features, enhancement of existing capabilities, and correction of defects identified in the system. They provide direct support for users performing vital information access services to the American public, as well as providing system and database support to a mission critical system for those users.
Responsibilities:
* Serves as the primary Oracle Database Administrator for the team, providing database troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
* Participates in project planning, system design, and implementation activities for new system capabilities and enhancement of existing functionality.
* Supports the deployment and testing of software and respond to testing feedback.
* Makes recommendations and advise on system improvements, automation, and risk management.
* Interfaces with other members of the team to ensure they have a clear understanding of system issues and requirements.
* Supports the development of system and user documentation as well as other training materials as appropriate to promote adoption and use of the system.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience performing Oracle database administration for 64-bit databases on a Windows Operating System, to include installation, configuration, security protocols and patching, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, performance tuning, maintenance, and availability.
- Demonstrated ability to research, troubleshoot, and resolve Oracle and Microsoft issues found in production and development environments.
- Demonstrated ability to access and query Oracle database data and objects using SQL*Plus and SQL Developer.
- Demonstrated ability to perform Windows Operating System and Oracle database maintenance to include setup of accounts and privileges, configuration, backup and recovery, security protocols and patching, troubleshooting, storage capacity, performance, and availability.
- Demonstrated possession of verbal and written communication skills to work independently and effectively with the users, stakeholders, and other team members.
- Reside within a commutable distance to customer site near College Park, MD.
- Six (6) years of IT experience, plus a Bachelor’s degree or an additional six (6) years of experience.
- Possess Top Secret clearance and possess or be able to obtain DOE ‘Q’ and SCI access.
Desired:
- Demonstrated ability and experience in direct support of IT system users in a professional manner, including expeditiously resolving issues that prevent users from performing vital work functions.
- Experience providing direct user support resolving technical and procedural issues, as well as other support tasks such as resetting passwords and unlocking user accounts.
- Experience with Windows Server and Desktop administration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage EC2 Instances on a Windows AWS environment.
