Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead for our Data Engineering Team to oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines supporting business reporting and data science needs. The ideal candidate will ensure that data engineering standards and best practices are consistently followed and will foster close collaboration between data engineers and data modelers to deploy robust, reusable, and high-quality data solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal best-practices in data pipeline development.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of scalable, efficient, and reliable data pipelines for business reporting.
- Foster collaboration between engineers and data modelers to deploy modeled tables and ensure seamless integration between modeling and engineering efforts.
- Promote the development of reusable code and modular data solutions to increase team productivity and maintainability.
- Ensure the team is proficient in and actively using dbt (data build tool) for transformation workflows.
- Guide the team in optimizing Databricks compute resources for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct regular code reviews and provide technical guidance to uphold quality and consistency.

You bring:
- Proven experience leading data engineering teams in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
- Strong expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with dbt and Databricks, including performance tuning and cost optimization.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and experience working with data modelers.
- Excellent coding practices with a focus on reusability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
