About the Department

The purpose of this position is to perform professional level administrative support services to Employee Relations & Equity in the Human Resources department. The Employee Relations Associate will assist the Director, Employee Relations, and Administrators/Employee Relations Business Partners in the intake and management of all cases. 

Position Duties

Associate’s degree plus three (3) years of related Human Resources experience in a support role, generalist, or similar. Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office programs, including database or case management software. PHR or SHRM-CP, and case management software experience preferred. 

This is a Part Time, 19.5 hours per week position that requires daytime hours Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Perform intake, data entry, and consistent follow-up pertaining to performance management and complaints/investigation cases.                                                                          a. Answer case-related phone calls and general inquiries while maintaining professionalism.                                                                                                                        b. Demonstrate attention to detail by accurately collecting, entering, updating, and correcting data in the issue data management system to inform                                departmental decision-making.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         c. Contact employees to review the complaint resolution process and collect additional information.                                                                                                          d. Review digital files for accuracy and completeness; follow up on outstanding materials.
  2. Respond to student, faculty, and staff inquiries regarding HR – Employee Relations & Equity matters through various modes of communication, accurately and in a timely manner.
  3. Work collaboratively with Training & Organizational Development staff to develop brochures, flyers, emails and other methods to communicate Employee Relations & Equity related development opportunities and resources to faculty, staff, and students.
  4. Serve as liaison between department or program and other offices or organizations.
  5. Research, analyze and process data into college systems.
  6. Maintain physical and online records and files.
  7. Prepare letters, reports, documents and other correspondence that may include sensitive information; use copier and fax equipment.
  8. Compile confidential reports, documents, forms and correspondence.
  9. Create and track check requests, requisitions, work orders and other request forms.
  10. Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  11. Assist in the planning and implementation of confidential meetings, special projects, and events. 
  12. Manage calendar for Director, Employee Relations & Equity.
