The Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization’s technology infrastructure. This position serves as a highly technical leader responsible for the end-to-end management, reliability, and performance of the company’s IT and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, systems operations, and critical technology services. The Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure leads a team of IT professionals to provide a high level of customer service for users in a hybrid work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Drives the architectural direction and execution of technology initiatives across hybrid IT/OT environments while ensuring operational excellence, cybersecurity resilience, and regulatory compliance in alignment with HFB’s Mission and business needs.
- Designs, implements, and manages the organization’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, cloud operations, and related systems.
- Participates in the development and execution of IT infrastructure policies, strategies, procedures, and best practices.
- Executes infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals and IT service management requirements.
- Ensures optimal performance, reliability, and security of all infrastructure components.
- Leads disaster recovery, backup, and system resilience initiatives to minimize downtime and enhance business continuity.
- Ensures the reliability, availability, scalability, and security of critical systems essential to business continuity.
- Supports ongoing security assessments and audits by providing infrastructure and operational expertise to identify and mitigate risk.
- Oversees procurement, installation, and maintenance of hardware, software, and infrastructure.
- Manages IT infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Oversees vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensures compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., data security, privacy, HIPAA, ePHI, etc.).
- Drives continuous improvement through automation, monitoring, and proactive maintenance.
- Maintains up-to-date documentation of the IT infrastructure environment and processes.
- Sets clear performance objectives, conducts regular reviews, and supports professional growth and technical excellence.
- Fosters an inclusive, collaborative environment that promotes teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
- Assesses business needs to inform budgeting and financial management decisions with the ability to prioritize resources cost-effectively.
- Collaborates and aligns priorities with the Data team to maximize impact while minimizing disruption to the business.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May manage two (2) or more director reports and indirectly provide guidance and/or oversight to employees and/or contractors, or vendors. Develops and maintains roles, responsibilities, and expectations. Practice performance management in support of associate development and perform administrative duties associated with being a manager of associates. Responsibilities include interviewing contractors, planning, assigning, and directing work, and resolving problems. Responsibilities also include sponsoring, directing, coordinating, and supporting project and process improvement teams, and participating in and/or supporting project teams sponsored by other management team members.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7-10+ years of recent experience managing IT infrastructure in a medium to large enterprise environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role with direct reports.
- Strong knowledge of network and server architecture, virtualization, cloud computing (e.g., Azure, AWS), storage solutions, and security best practices.
- Experience with ITIL, project management methodologies, and IT compliance frameworks.
- Prior experience supporting a hybrid workforce.
- Extensive experience managing, protecting, and isolating confidential and sensitive data.
- Excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise with infrastructure automation and Core DevOps practices.
- Working knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR).
- Possess deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including advanced SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform implementations.
- Demonstrate exceptional adaptability, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and insurance.
- Microsoft Windows Environment certifications preferred.
- Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Environment certification preferred.

The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the employee will be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels (e.g., horns, fans).
TRAVEL:
Travel may be required for this position, including up to 10% of the time within the 18-county area in the Houston metro area.
This role supports hours of operations at the Houston Food Bank facilities, as necessary, and may require flexibility (e.g., times of disaster, community events, company events).
