The Rivers School — a 6-12 co-ed independent day school in Weston, MA, just outside Boston — seeks professionals who are looking to join a dynamic, innovative, and welcoming school community. 

This permanent part-time varsity head coaching position starts November 17, 2025 and ends March 7, 2026 at the conclusion of the season, with additional responsibilities to support the program outside of the winter season. We are always looking for great professionals who can contribute to the evolving needs of the institution. Therefore, the potential to contribute to other aspects of the academic, co-curricular, and administrative functions of the school will be part of the evaluation of candidates.

Candidates must possess a commitment to professional development and personal growth as a coach as well as the ability and desire to collaborate effectively with colleagues in the athletic department and across campus to support the school’s mission and the team’s goals. A team-first attitude, a sincere care for student wellbeing, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to advancing the school’s DEI mission are also essential qualities for a successful Rivers professional. 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • an extensive understanding of the strategic and tactical aspects of Alpine Skiing/Racing. ● experience in Alpine Skiing/Racing as a competitor and/or coach.
  • a passion for helping teams and players reach their full potential on and off the ski slope. ● the ability to positively motivate, inspire, and be a role model to students, on and off the ski slope.
  • the capacity to model good behavior and interact respectfully with student-athletes, staff, officials, and parents/caregivers.
  • a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to team practices and competitions. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and execute the day-to-day operations of the Alpine Ski program. ● Organize and conduct carefully planned practices that foster development, preparation, and fellowship.
  • Provide instruction and teach fundamentals during practices and competitions. ● Organize and supervise strength training and dry-land workouts.
  • Drive team van to practice and competitions when required.
  • Build a strong team culture that values leadership, responsibility, and respect and that aligns with The Rivers School mission.
  • Recruit and attract student-athletes and families who value community and challenge and who will make contributions toward the overall mission of our school.

Salary Range- $5,000-$8,000 stipend
