Job Summary

The Controls/Mechanical HVAC Project Manager is responsible for developing, planning, executing, and closing HVAC projects, specifically focusing on mechanical and BAS controls systems. This role involves managing resources, schedules, financials, and adhering to project management standards and best practices. The Project Manager will work closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Development/Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budget, resources, and risk management strategies.
  • Project Execution: Lead and manage project to ensure the successful completion of all project phases from initiation to closure.
  • Controls & Mechanical Systems Management: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC controls and mechanical systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and manage cost control measures to maintain project profitability.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors, assigning tasks and managing workload to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations and safety protocols.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement solutions to minimize impact.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and project close-out documents.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate project outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for future projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of [10] years of experience in project management within the HVAC industry, with a focus on mechanical and controls systems.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC controls systems, including building automation systems (BAS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • PMP or other relevant project management certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.

Working Conditions

  • This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to meet project deadlines.
  • The role involves travel to project sites and client meetings.
  • Must be able to lift and move equipment up to [50] pounds.
