The Role
The Project Engineer is a key technical contributor within our Professional Services team. You will execute project-based work, apply contextual knowledge to resolve complex issues, and communicate directly with clients to ensure clear understanding of technical outcomes. Operating with a high degree of independence, you will ensure that technical delivery is professional, reliable, and aligned to project scope — enabling senior engineers to focus on large-scale architectural initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute technical project tasks across Aldridge’s service offerings, such as:
- Microsoft 365 migrations
- Server builds
- Network device configuration
- Security solution deployments
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently while minimizing escalation.
- Communicate project status, risks, timelines, and technical impacts to clients in a clear, professional manner.
- Maintain accurate documentation, configuration records, and PSA ticket updates in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Coordinators to align schedules, resource needs, and client expectations.
- Identify recurring issues, scope gaps, or risks and escalate appropriately to senior engineering staff for solutions.
- Mentor and support Associate Project Engineers in executing documented tasks and developing client communication confidence.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2–5+ years of hands-on technical experience in an MSP or IT project delivery environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, Windows Server, and basic networking principles.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with firewalls, VPN configuration, and security tools.
- Familiarity with PSA/RMM tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Autotask).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.).
