As a maintenance technician, you will serve within our ministry by ensuring all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and in compliance with local regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Surveys buildings and repairs mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards (OSHA, HAZcom and Blood Borne Pathogen)
- Performs maintenance of electrical systems which includes replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleans and repairs circuit breaker panels etc.
- Assists in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Maintains heating and plumbing systems to ensure the functionality
- Inspects alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedules repairs when needed
- Performs manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Responds to emergency work orders any time or day of the week

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
- Knowledge of general carpentry, HVAC, building systems, and commercial maintenance
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Novice technological skills including, but not limited to, the ability to upload documents, send and receive emails, Microsoft Office products
- High School diploma or GED required
- EPA section 608 Technician Certification Level 2 required or obtained within 90 days of hire
- EPA section 608 Technician Certification Level 1 preferred
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry is highly preferred.
- HVAC experience preferred
- 5 - 7 years demonstrated experience in commercial maintenance preferred
CERTIFICATION OR LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass the Level 2 certification within 90 days of hire
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: None
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires remaining stationary for long periods of time and to move and walk to various locations, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, push, bend and twist.
- Must be able to distinguish, determine and detect taste or smell
- Must be able to communicate accurate information
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50lbs
- Occasionally working from roof of a building
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions during events
- Moderate noise as in a business office environment
- Medium exposure risk to communicable diseases as described by OSHA
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to travel in the metro Atlanta area (downtown and North Atlanta) and/or Northeast Georgia (Athens metro)
- Must live within 30 minutes of job site location (165 Ivan Allen Jr Blvd NW Atlanta, GA 30313)
