Qualifications:
College hours, high school diploma or GED
Texas Operator’s License
Journeyman Electrician license (preferred)
GROL License or obtain within six months of hire date
Knowledge of low voltage lighting and building automation controls diagnosing, troubleshooting and repair
Knowledge of automated systems utilizing VFD’s, PLC’s and motion control components
Understanding of BDA, Lighting and HVAC systems, sequencing and applications
High and Low Voltage Controls Programming knowledge
Aptitude with computers and learning new systems
Experience in reading diagrams, electrical engineering and lighting layouts
Excellent communication skills
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to comprehend written and verbal English
Primary Purpose:
Provide campuses with quality service and repair. Provide guidance regarding the operation of the low voltage controls as necessary.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on low voltage control systems, specifically lighting and building automation systems.
- Record all repairs on work orders in the SchoolDude System.
- Take all safety precautions related to all trades and report to Supervisor any hazardous situations.
- Ability to understand and program various low voltage control systems.
- Manage multiple projects with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- May be required to work overtime or alternative shifts.
- Attend training and other programs to stay current with latest technology improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Various specialized testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Electric lift, ladder, computer, light truck or van.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around electrical power lines, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures.
