Job Description:AECOM is seeking a Technology Project Manager to join our Technology Solutions Group within the Buildings + Places practice. This role will focus on the management and delivery of AV and building systems projects, supporting high-visibility clients both in the DC metro area and nationally. The successful candidate will support multidisciplinary teams, manage complex AV/IoT projects, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives across the region. This position is hybrid.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Communicate and coordinate with all project stakeholders (internal and external).
- Engage with clients to assess needs and requirements and develop solutions.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, integrators, and manufacturers.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and risks.
- Manage assigned projects through all phases (from planning through project close) reporting to AECOM leadership.
- Develop best-in-class client relationships.
- Manage one or more very complex projects, involving a combination of clients with a national geographic footprint and projects involving a full spectrum of services offered by the Technology Solutions Group (AV/IoT, Security, Networks, Wireless, ICT).
- Manages all phases of assigned projects (from beginning to close out) reporting to Integrated Experiences leadership.
- Engage with project team to document needs, track delivery timelines, manage budgets and invoices, and support consultants as needed.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants across disciplines.
- Manage projects from award through delivery, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
- Support design process phases (concept to delivery) and provide project guidance to stakeholders and designers.
- Assist in AV/IoT equipment selection and bid specification development as needed.
- Interface with AV/IoT equipment manufacturers as needed.
- Support business development and proposal efforts as needed.
- Represent AECOM’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and integrated design solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS degree plus 6+ years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma/GED and 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 years of experience managing projects in the AV, technology or related industry.
- Experience with large workplace projects. Additional experience with broadcast projects, network design, or architecture knowledge a plus.
- Experience with AV/IoT industry standards and best practices.
- AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification preferred.
- PMP certification a plus.
- Experience with contractual and construction documents (including architectural and engineering drawings).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- AutoCAD and Revit/BIM experience a plus.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
- This position does not support relocation assistance.
