Job Description
Virtus ETF Solutions (VES) is seeking an ETF Product Specialist – Fixed Income who will be responsible for expanding our exchange traded fund (ETF) client base among financial intermediaries in the United States. This role will primarily be focused on supporting the firm’s suite of non-traditional income ETFs, encompassing aspects traditionally associated with investment product specialist, research, and marketing functions. This role will ideally be based in our New York City office and will be expected to travel extensively.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Represent Virtus as an income strategy expert demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of ETFs including detailed knowledge of underlying investment strategies, rationale for product positioning, drivers of performance and relevant market background
- Collaborate with Managing Director – ETF Sales in coverage of professional ETF buyer channels, serving as a subject matter expert on our income-oriented ETF product offerings
- Partner with Virtus wholesalers in a specialist capacity supporting retail distribution efforts under the direction of Virtus ETF Solutions’ Income Strategist
- Identify and develop new business opportunities/relationships for Virtus’ ETF product suite
- Serve as a media-facing subject matter expert on fixed income, with an emphasis on the innovative securitized and private credit ETF solutions offered by Virtus
- Act as a client-facing extension of the firm’s respective investment teams, with an emphasis on ETF portfolios sub advised by Newfleet, SEIX, and Stone Harbor, providing education to a wide range of clients with varying degrees of ETF knowledge
- Play a leading role in development of regular content in support of the business line’s broader marketing and public relations strategy
- Conduct periodic product training presentations to internal and external sales teams and travel to industry events and national sales meetings
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; MBA and/or CFA, CAIA, CIMA, CFP designations desirable
- 7+ years of experience in the financial services/investment management industry
- 3+ years of fixed income product specialist and/or external sales experience
- Securitized and/or private credit experience preferred
- Strong understanding of investment research, portfolio analytics, and ETFs, along with a consultative and client-centric sales approach
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate the investment approach and strategy essential
- FINRA Series 7 & 63 preferred; must obtain within 3 months of hire
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
The starting base salary is $117,000 to $143,000.
The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.
