Head Varsity Golf Coach

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a Head Varsity Golf Coach to build and lead a new, high-performing golf program. This is a unique opportunity to shape a competitive and developmental team from the ground up! The team will compete against a mix of local public and private high schools, following PIAA and NHSGA standards and protocols.

🗓 Position Details

  • Part-time ancillary role
  • Season runs from August to October
  • Practices held Monday to Friday, 3:30–6:30 p.m.
  • Competitions scheduled after school and on weekends
  • Off-season planning and engagement required (flexible hours)
  • Postseason compensation provided if qualified

🏌️‍♂️ Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for program success
  • Create and lead a developmental plan focused on golf fundamentals, training, and tournament strategy
  • Inspire and mentor student-athletes, fostering sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork
  • Coordinate practices, equipment, and competition logistics
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and athletic regulations
  • Collaborate across MHS to support programmatic success, including middle school development
  • Oversee assistant coach

  • Minimum 3 years of successful golf coaching experience
  • Experience as a competitive golfer is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals, strategy, and PIAA/NHSGA rules
  • Proven ability to instill character, sportsmanship, and leadership in student-athletes
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to inspire others
  • Proactive problem-solver with a commitment to excellence
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • High integrity and dedication to student success—MHS staff serve as role models
