Supplier Operations Analyst

Job Description

The Supplier Operations Analyst serves as the analytical and operational backbone of the Vendor Relations and Product Strategy organization. This role supports data-driven decision-making across supplier performance, purchasing, and forecasting functions by gathering, analyzing, and visualizing key metrics related to cost, delivery, inventory, and vendor reliability.

The Analyst works cross-functionally with Supplier Business Managers, Procurement, Planning, Finance, and Sales to ensure all supplier and purchasing decisions are supported by accurate, actionable data. This position plays a critical role in strengthening Signature Solar’s supplier accountability, profitability, and sourcing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Data & Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and automate dashboards and reports tracking supplier performance KPIs, including delivery reliability, pricing and cost trends, lead time adherence, and quality metrics.
  • Consolidate and analyze supplier spend data to identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Build visual tools (Excel, Domo, or Power BI) that allow leadership to easily interpret supplier data and performance over time.
  • Support quarterly supplier business reviews (QBRs) with up-to-date analytics, performance summaries, and trend reports.

Forecasting, Sales Channel Integration, and Procurement Support

  • Partner with the Demand Planner to align forecasts with actual supplier deliveries and lead times.
  • Collaborate with all sales channels (Strategic, Retail, and E-Commerce) to collect, validate, and interpret forecast data for procurement decisions.
  • Analyze Salesforce pipeline data, sales trends, and promotional plans to identify purchasing priorities and inventory risks.
  • Communicate forecast variance findings and demand trends to Supplier Business Managers and Procurement for action.
  • Provide Procurement with vendor capacity data and historical trends for timing and replenishment planning.
  • Participate in Monthly Forecast Review (MFR) meetings to support alignment between Sales, Demand Planning, and Vendor Relations.
  • Recommend procurement adjustments based on changing sales dynamics, inventory levels, or supplier constraints.

Margin & Category Analysis

  • Collaborate with Supplier Business Managers to track category-level margin performance and cost competitiveness.
  • Conduct SKU-level velocity and profitability analysis to inform product strategy and stocking decisions.
  • Identify underperforming products, pricing inefficiencies, or vendor gaps that impact profitability.
  • Present insights to the Director to support strategic sourcing and supplier optimization.

Supplier & Compliance Support

  • Assist with tracking of domestic content, FEOC documentation, and other supplier compliance requirements.
  • Maintain supplier scorecards and action trackers following QBRs.
  • Support communication and coordination with vendors on data requests or KPI clarifications.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Supplier data accuracy ≥ 95%
  • Forecast accuracy and variance improvement over time (target <10%)
  • QBR reporting completion and accuracy (100%)
  • Cost reduction or margin improvement tracking (quarterly)
  • Dashboard/report delivery timeliness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or Data Analytics.
  • 2–4 years of experience in supply chain analytics, procurement, or vendor management.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and Salesforce (required).
  • Experience with Domo or other data visualization tools (preferred).
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven with strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
