Summer 2026 Intern - Embedded Software Engineering (Rainin) chez Mettler Toledo

As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern on the Mechatronics team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to develop software and firmware for our pipettes. You will assist with the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of software/firmware solutions for these embedded systems. You will work with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Quality Control, and Manufacturing, to ensure that products are designed and tested to meet functional requirements, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Through this internship, you'll gain a better understanding of how software interacts with sensors, actuators, and other hardware components used in precision instruments. The job responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Assisting in the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of firmware solutions for pipettesDeveloping firmware for embedded systems, wireless communication applications (preferably BLE), and/or mobile applications (IOS or Android)Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams to integrate software/firmware solutions into functional systemsPerform feasibility studies, prototyping, testing, and documentation of new product concepts and improvements to existing productsAssist in the creation and maintenance of software/firmware design and testing documentation, including requirements, specifications, test plans, and test reports
