Serve as the primary point of coordination for both domestic and international relocation services for transferring employees. This role manages all aspects of employee relocations based on client policies, ensuring seamless transitions whether moving domestically or across borders. The consultant works in the best interests of both the transferee and client, maintaining the highest commitment to outstanding service and delivering an exceptional relocation experience.

Core Responsibilities:

Client and Transferee Management

  • Contact relocating employees to review authorized services per client’s relocation policy
  • Perform comprehensive needs assessment for each relocating employee to coordinate appropriate services
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the relocating employee, the company, and all third-party service providers
  • Manage all exceptions and maintain communication with corporate clients on transferee issues, resolution, and policy administration
  • Provide quarterly and year-to-date reports as needed, with regular client communication

Domestic Relocation Services

  • Coordinate and manage home sale programs, including:
  • Buyer Value Option (BVO): assist with home marketing, evaluate offers, manage transactions, and ensure tax compliance
  • Guaranteed Buyout Option (GBO): arrange appraisals, present buyout offers, oversee marketing periods, execute company buyouts, and manage property inventory
  • Coordinate origin home sale closing dates, temporary housing needs, and home purchase closing dates
  • Assist with lease cancellations when applicable

International Relocation Services

  • Arrange and oversee international-specific requirements:
  • Visas, work permits, and immigration paperwork
  • Customs clearance processes
  • Local orientation and school searches for family members
  • Provide cultural orientation and settling-in services
  • Assist with repatriation as needed

Logistics and Vendor Management

  • Coordinate household goods shipping and transportation for both domestic and international moves
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Manage communication between all parties regarding the relocation’s progress

Compliance and Administration

  • Complete required audits to ensure compliance with IRS guidelines and international regulations
  • Prepare and manage relocation paperwork and letters of assignment
  • Process allowance payments and handle expense reimbursements
  • Liaise with accounting to manage budgets and process vendor payments
  • Maintain accurate records and data for all aspects of relocation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B. A.) or equivalent work experience required; Minimum of four years of Relocation and/or Real Estate experience is required;
  • Strong communication skills: Excellent verbal and written abilities to communicate with diverse groups
  • Project management expertise: Ability to manage multiple relocations and deadlines simultaneously
  • Problem-solving capabilities: Resourcefulness to handle unexpected issues in real-time
  • Customer service focus: Dedication to providing positive and stress-free relocation experiences
  • Attention to detail: Essential for managing complex logistics and documentation
  • Knowledge of domestic and international relocation best practices
  • Understanding of IRS regulations related to relocation benefits
  • Familiarity with immigration procedures and global mobility concepts
