PacAero’s core businesses include an array of electronic connectors and housings for the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface.
The Position:
Job Summary
Working under general supervision, Firing Technician I will manufacture precision parts according to specifications. The role involves assembling, firing and performing measurements and inspections to ensure product quality, and adhering to safety and production standards. This position requires basic knowledge of measurement and hand tools, timers and the ability to follow technical instructions and blueprints.
No previous experience is required as we provide on the job training for this unique career path. Employees in this position will manufacture highly engineered products principally for the Aerospace, Defense, and Medical markets.
Schedule: Mon-Thurs from 4am to 2:30pm.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with all employees.
- Willingness to adapt work schedule to company needs.
- Attendance / Punctuality: Is consistently at work and on time.
- Following company handbook policy and companies cell phone policy.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by area Lead or Supervisor
- Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to Management personnel.
- Follow daily clean up and housekeeping procedures.
- Comply with all quality, safety, and work-related rules and regulations.
- The ability to complete tasks in a reasonably timely manner.
Firing Technician I Responsibilities
Demonstrate a basic ability to read and comprehend drawings and other applicable documentation.
Perform the following assembly functions:
- Proficient usage of microscopes.
- Ability to learn and use applicable area equipment.
- Must be able to install hardware of different variations.
- Demonstrate the ability to accurately and efficiently use applicable measuring tools such as, but not limited to Calipers, Micrometers and Height Gage.
- Load and unload parts or products into firing equipment using appropriate tools and handling procedures.
- Adjust temperature and firing times based on material requirements.
- Document firing data (time, oven temperature, rework, rejects) accurately.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on firing equipment.
- Must have the ability to work in harsh environments.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by area Lead or Supervisor
- Must be able to retain information and show continued progression towards a level II firing technician role.
- Ability to find and interpret Engineering Drawings to correctly determine requirements.
- Develop strong understanding of the quality requirements of individual components and the finished products.
- Learn to use the correct tools, techniques, and equipment necessary to process assemblies both prior to, and following, the Firing process.
- In-process visual inspections under a microscope to confirm compliance with quality standards.
- In-process dimensional inspections with drop indicators, calipers, and micrometers as needed.
- Ability to operate equipment including the vapor degreaser, blue wave, abrasion and ultra sonic machines.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.

Work Environment
- Noise: Sandblast room can often be a loud environment with constant noise from equipment requiring hearing protection.
- Safety hazards: Firing parts and tooling may expose employees to high temperatures, creating a risk of burns. Sharp tools and components can also present cut hazards.
- Contaminants: The work involves exposure to airborne particles like chemical fumes, necessitating adequate ventilation and protective measures to minimize health risks.
- Protective gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a requirement for safety. This includes safety glasses and hearing protection.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: The job frequently requires lifting and moving parts.
- Manual dexterity: Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary for manipulating tools, loading parts into fixtures, setting up ovens, and performing precise measurements.
- Repetitive motion: Many tasks, such as loading and unloading workpieces into fixtures, inspecting parts, and loading tiles with parts into high temp ovens are repetitive and can potentially lead to musculoskeletal issues over time.
- Precision and vision: Firing Technicians must have excellent close-up vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colors to accurately read blueprints, inspect finished products, and use measuring instruments.
- Stamina: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding tasks for the duration of a shift, including loading materials, monitoring timers, and conducting quality control checks on finished goods.
