Description
- Performs the repair, installation and maintenance of all plant equipment and buildings (frozen operation) under minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates consistent improvement in knowledge and skills as outlined in the criteria for advancement.
- Reports any equipment or building condition (frozen operation) requiring repair to Plant Manager or Leaderson.
- Performs preventative maintenance as required.
- Completes documentation as required by the Plant Manager or Leadperson.
- Position requires lifting and handling of heavy objects.
- Adheres to common safety practices and procedures including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing as required. Reports any safety issues to supervisor immediately.
- Assists other mechanics in maintaining high level of productivity in the frozen plant to include leadership and direction.
- Adheres to Company’s plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
- Keeps work area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
- Develops ability to use the computerized maintenance management system to enter work requests and retrieve data on plant equipment.
- Must furnish your own tools as needed to perform the job.
- Requests materials necessary for the completion of designated job assignments.
- Successfully completes job assignments with high skill levels in the areas of welding, cutting, brazing, pipe fitting, hydraulics, fabrication, and installation as required.
- Reads and interprets prints and manuals to effectively carry out job assignments.
- Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP’s, HACCP, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Leadperson.

Qualifications
- Previous experience working in food processing
- General knowledge of food processing principles
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and challenging environment
- Ability to work in all environments (hot and cold)
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime as required
- Ability to conduct oneself in a mature, professional manner
- Exceptional time management and organization skills
- Must maintain a good attendance record
- Safe work habits
- Previous experience in maintenance
