- Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of regular job duties.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the work area for the duration of the shift (excluding breaks and meal periods).
- Communication and Safety
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand safety instructions, operating procedures, and workplace communication.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal directions to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
- Attendance and Reliability
- Must be able to work scheduled shifts consistently and on time, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.
- Reliable transportation to and from work is required.
- Work Environment and Conduct
- Must comply with all company safety policies, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must maintain professional behavior and demonstrate teamwork and respect toward others in the workplace.
- Must be able to work in environments that may include varying temperatures, noise levels, and manufacturing equipment.
- Eligibility and Verification
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation verifying identity and employment eligibility in accordance with federal and Ohio law.
Finishing Specific:
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Pay: $18.95/hour
- Shift Differential: Additional $0.65/hour for night shift ($19.60/hour)
- Incentives:
- $1,000 perfect attendance bonus after 60 days of employment
- Union Bonuses (once a member of the United Steelworkers):
- $150 monthly attendance bonus
- $75 quarterly safety bonus
- Schedule:
- 12 hour rotating shifts
- Rotation: 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
- Approximately 14 scheduled workdays per month
- Shift Options:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12 hour rotating shifts
- Overtime: Paid at 1.5x for hours over 40 per week
- No mandatory overtime
- Benefits Eligibility: Full benefits available after 30 days of employment
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Select, inspect, and gauge ware according to established quality standards
- Pack and palletize product in accordance with operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with Bills of Material, pallet diagram specifications, and load ticket requirements
- Operate or attend automatic decorating and packaging machines
- Assist with job changes and perform cullet breakdown as needed
- Handle, stage, seal, and label products as required
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervision
Machines & Equipment
- Automatic decorating machines
- Hand trucks, lift tables, labeling and shrink wrap machines
- Epoxy production units, conveyors, staple and tape machines, banding equipment
- Other similar machinery or equipment
Tools & Gauges
- Straddle and ring gauges, height gauges, metal plates
- Carton openers, ring knives, stencil brushes, glue applicators
- Hand knives, hand tapers, strapping, and related tools
Materials
- Cartons, trays, finished and semi-finished ware
- Pallets, labels, accessories, load tickets, cullet
- Packaging materials and other related products
