RH is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Stone Finishing Specialist to join our Dennis & Leen/Formations Workshop in Torrance, CA. This role plays a vital part in the creation of our handcrafted furniture and architectural pieces, applying artistry and precision to natural and cast stone materials. The Stone Finishing Specialist will refine and finish each surface to achieve timeless textures and patinas that reflect the heritage and quality of our products. In this role, you will bring mastery of craft, an unwavering eye for detail, and a passion for creating pieces that embody enduring beauty and excellence.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Finish and refine stone components, including marble, limestone, travertine, and cast stone, used in high-end furniture and architectural elements
  • Perform surface treatments such as polishing, honing, antiquing, and distressing to achieve desired finishes and patinas
  • Clean, seal, and protect stone surfaces to ensure durability and aesthetic consistency
  • Repair minor chips, cracks, or imperfections in stone surfaces using appropriate materials and techniques
  • Inspect finished pieces to confirm quality, consistency, and adherence to design specifications
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are handled safely and effectively
OUR REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years of experience in stone finishing, fabrication, or restoration
  • Commitment to craftsmanship, precision, and maintaining consistent quality
  • Proficiency in stone surface finishing, including polishing, honing, brushing, and antiquing
  • Skilled in using hand tools, grinders, polishers, and abrasives specific to stonework
  • Knowledge of various stone types and their behavior under different treatments
  • Experience applying sealers, enhancers, and protective coatings for indoor and outdoor use
  • Understanding of dust control, PPE, and safe handling of stone and finishing materials
  • Experience in architectural stonework, sculpture, or decorative arts preferred
  • Familiarity with antique-style furniture and traditional design aesthetics preferred
  • Portfolio or examples of previous stone finishing work strongly preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Handles and moves stone materials weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs. with assistance
  • Performs detailed visual and tactile analysis to ensure finish quality, color accuracy, and surface consistency
  • Stands, bends, lifts, and performs repetitive hand movements for extended periods in a workshop environment
  • Works in areas with exposure to dust, noise, and finishing materials while adhering to safety and PPE requirements
  • Operates hand and power tools requiring fine motor control and manual dexterity
