Brenham Independent School District - Job Description | Job Title/Position: | District PEIMS and Data Specialist | Department/School: | Central Office | Pay Information: | Clerical Compensation Plan - CT6 Days: 226 | Supervised By: | PEIMS Coordinator | FLSA: | Non-Exempt | Date Revised: | October 28, 2025 | Primary Purpose: | Under the direct supervision of the PEIMS Coordinator, collect and disseminate public information request records, assist in the collection and reporting of the District’s Student Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) and Texas Student Data System (TSDS) submissions, while providing clerical assistance for the effective operations and facilitation of student data and record operations. | Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): | High school diploma or GED, and 3 years of clerical experience | Major Responsibilities: | Maintaining, organizing, and updating physical and digital records while ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive information. This role requires strong attention to detail, discretion, and adherence to data management and privacy policies. Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) prescribed format to the education service center (ESC) for processing. Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA, attend all regional PEIMS workshops, and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards. Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information. Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction. Report to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction. Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner. Assist in providing reports used by campuses to monitor PEIMS data Assist with student enrollment Assist the PEIMS Coordinator in all PEIMS submissions to meet deadlines Facilitate the completion of Public Information Act requests. Records and Reports Key alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from the source document and verify results according to procedures provided. Identify deficiencies in source documents and return them to the originator for correction. Maintain and organize both electronic and paper-based auditable documentation.
