Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. 

Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by Winter/ Spring 2026.


The Senior Systems Administrator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain the infrastructure that powers networks and operating systems such as UNIX, Linux, and Windows.
  • Install and configure hardware and software, manage user accounts and permissions, monitor system performance, troubleshoot (Tier 1-3) issues, mobile devices, and implement and ensure compliance with applicable system security controls.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Ensure IT Assets remain compliant with Identity & Access Control Management (ICAM) policy and communicate and coordinate system changes.

Required Skills and Education

  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM).
  • Experience with ServiceNow platform.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing SQL queries to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Experience with SQL scripting, Java, Windows Server, Linux, Oracle, Tomcat, data backups, and load balancing.​​​​​​
  • Knowledge and understanding of Trusted Thin Client and enhanced VDI (e.g., remote GPU and memory scaling).
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).​​​​​​​
  • Level II: Bachelors and 5-8 years of experience or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Level III: Bachelors and 9-17 years of experience or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
