The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor for a 12-month position. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience and an active research program. Faculty responsibilities will include teaching, research, student advisement, and university and professional service. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and scholarly productivity on a tenure track.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses within the Physical Therapy programs.
  • Actively participate in research, data dissemination via peer-reviewed publications and presentations, and applications for grant funding.
  • Lead by example through the advancement of interdisciplinary research within the programs of DDHS or in basic or data science disciplines.
  • Participate in committees at the department, college, and university level.
  • Mentor students in research as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent.   

EXPERIENCE: Evidence of university academic teaching experience and content expertise. Evidence of sustained peer-reviewed publications consistent with rank. Evidence of extramural federal funding to support an established area of research. Eligible for licensure in the United States.
