We are seeking two Finance Business Partners to join our management accounts team. These are key roles within the University’s Finance function, providing high-quality financial insight, analysis and advice to support effective decision-making across academic and professional service areas and within the finance team itself.
About the Role
Working as part of a team of four Finance Business Partners and supported by a shared Finance Assistant, you will report to the Management Accounts & Business Partnering Manager and play an important role in driving financial performance, sustainability and value for money across the University.
Each role will support a different aspect of the University’s activities, the two focus areas are:
Role 1: Academic and Research Focus – supporting Teaching, Research and Schools Technical Services. You’ll support academic and research leaders to plan, manage and monitor financial performance across teaching and research activities.
Role 2: Income-Generating Activities Focus – supporting Short Courses, Knowledge Exchange, Catering, Conferencing and other commercial activities, providing financial insight to help grow and sustain these important income streams.

About You
- Qualified/part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
- Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting or financial business partnering.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of excel and financial systems proficiency.
- Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines effectively.
- Experience in the higher education, research or public sector.
- Experience working with income-generating or commercial operations.

Additional Information
Salary Grade 7 - Starting from £38,784 rising to £43,482 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
