Position Summary


We’re looking for a Trimble GPS Site Technician to join our Design Department. This role bridges design and construction, ensuring accurate layout, data management, and field coordination using Trimble RTS technology. You’ll work closely with designers, project managers, and construction teams to bring projects to life with accuracy and efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage digital layout files for Trimble RTS.
  • Perform field layout and verification of control points and existing conditions.
  • Collaborate with design and project teams to ensure layout accuracy.
  • Update and maintain point files reflecting field changes and as-built conditions.
  • Communicate site data, issues, and updates between design and field teams.
  • Provide precise, efficient layout support for active projects.

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of construction or surveying experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Trimble RTS layout systems.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and site coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; MS Project experience a plus.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of surveying principles.
  • Perform site layout: Use equipment for precise field layout, including locating structural elements, anchor points, and other components based on blueprints and CAD drawings.
  • Collect and process data: Gather high-precision GPS data, perform site calibrations, and potentially use the data for progress tracking or other calculations.
  • Collaborate with teams: Work with project managers, engineers, designers and other field personnel to ensure the accuracy of the work and to resolve issues.
