Job Summary:
 We are looking for an experienced and driven Food Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our food service establishment. This role involves overseeing food preparation, customer service, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Food Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the food service department.
  • Supervise and train staff, ensuring high levels of performance, morale, and adherence to company standards.
  • Help with scheduling staff to ensure proper coverage for all shifts.
  • Monitor food preparation and presentation, ensuring it meets quality standards.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly followed, including food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness.
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and managing inventory, ensuring that supplies are stocked and properly stored.
  • Manage customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain food and labor costs, ensuring the establishment stays within budget.
  • Support in creating and implementing staff development programs to improve team performance.
  • Collaborate with the Food Manager to create and implement strategies for increasing operational efficiency and improving customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary or hospitality management degree preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in food service, with some supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to manage inventory and handle financial tasks such as budgeting and cost control.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent) is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
