Whisker is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan and Juneau, Wisconsin with 700+ passionate team members.


Whisker operates daily with two shifts. If selected for an interview, please confirm if you are interested in first, second or either shift. 


 First Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm CST | Second Shift 3pm - 11:30pm CST


What You’ll Do:

As a Line Material Handler, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading/unloading materials, staging materials, maintaining inventory organization and maintaining inventory accuracy. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently moves materials on the production floor to ensure all stations are filled for the assembly line.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with coworkers, to achieve positive morale and cooperation.
  • Safely uses a pallet jack to move materials around.
  • Collaborates with Supervisors and Team Leads to ensure the appropriate material is being delivered by the forklift drivers.
  • Helps contribute by maintaining an organized work area and materials.
  • Ability to clean the surrounding production areas to help maintain a pristine look and safety working environment.
  • Follows and respects OSHA General Industry and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) directives and standards.
  • Embodies “service with a smile” when delivering materials to lineside workers.
  • Participates in inventory cycle counting activities.
  • Thrives in a “Team Environment” and provides constructive feedback when appropriate.
  • Reacts proportionally to material handling urgencies, incorporating a “sense of urgency” when necessary.
  • Engages in cross-training activities, as the Trainer and Trainee.
  • Engages in 5S ("Sort", "Set In order", "Shine", "Standardize" and "Sustain”) Activities.
  • Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), when necessary.
  • Performs additional responsibilities when required.

Requirements

 What You'll Bring: 

  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Prior forklift experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to get forklift certified.
  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift/push up to 60 lbs
  • Able to bend, climb ladders, pull, push, reach as needed
  • Ability to work in various temperatures
  • Able to follow directions, use hand and power tools
  • Mechanical aptitude and good dexterity are helpful in this role
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Must be an efficient worker that is organized and detail oriented
  • Able to work in a fast-paced assembly environment
  • Must be eager to learn different areas of the company

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.  The team member frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel.  The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must continuously lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. 


Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
