Description
PM Slot Technician (Entry-Level)
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on slot machines and peripherals
- Clean, inspect, and reset machines as needed
- Respond to minor machine errors and escalate complex issues to senior technicians
- Provide basic guest service and direct customers to Slot Attendants or Supervisors for further assistance
- Learn compliance protocols, including handling equipment responsibly and logging service activity
- Support Senior Techs with machine change Projects
Slot Technician I (In addition to PM Slot Tech Accountabilities)
- Assist with slot machine troubleshooting under supervision
- Perform basic software updates and peripheral replacements
- Support the installation, relocation, and configuration of gaming devices
- Document machine issues and maintenance performed
- Begin to learn Oasis Player Tracking and Title 31 awareness
Slot Technician II (In addition to Slot Tech I, and PM Slot Tech Accountabilities)
- Begin casino slot floor technical work
- Independently diagnose and repair common slot malfunctions
- Replace power supplies, I/O boards, monitors, and other modular components
- Assist with Oasis Player Tracking hardware configuration and maintenance
- Perform intermediate system diagnostics and log adjustments
- Coordinate with compliance personnel on system integrity matters
- Begin mentoring entry-level techs
- Begin learning Oasis, Diagnostic Monitor, Machine searches, OneLink and IRIS
Slot Technician III (In addition to Slot Tech I and II; and, PM Slot Tech Accountabilities)
- Can independently oversee Casino Slot floor Technical work
- Skilled at Oasis, OneLink, IRIS
- Perform advanced diagnostics on complex hardware issues
- Lead machine installations, conversions, and floor moves
- Program and configure new games according to vendor and compliance standards
- Maintain and troubleshoot player tracking systems and progressive links
- Ensure equipment documentation, compliance logging, and internal communications are accurate and timely
- Support inventory control and parts ordering processes
Slot Technician IV / Bench Technician (In addition to Slot Tech I, II, and III; and, PM Slot Tech Accountabilities)
- Perform component-level diagnostics and repairs on gaming electronics
- Repair LCD/LED monitors, power supplies, bill validators, ticket printers, CPU boards, and interface systems
- Solder and de-solder multi-layer printed circuit boards and surface-mount components
- Utilize advanced tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and board testers
- Maintain organized inventory and oversee ordering of critical components
- Train other technicians in electronic theory and advanced troubleshooting
- Ensure bench technical operations comply with all regulatory and internal SOP standards
Qualifications
Qualifications
General (All Levels)
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain a UMUGC Support License
- Must be able and willing to work weekends, holidays, and a flexible schedule
- Must be fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must demonstrate a commitment to excellent guest service and collaborative teamwork
- High school diploma or GED required
Education
- PM Tech through Tech III – On-the-job technical experience or trade coursework preferred
- Technician IV – Formal electronics education from an accredited institution preferred, Gaming
Vendor Certifications Preferred.
Experience
- PM Slot Technician – Entry-level; general mechanical and or electrical aptitude preferred
- Slot Technician I – 6 months to 1 year of hands-on slot operations or technical maintenance
- Slot Technician II – 1–2 years of slot machine servicing, with some independent troubleshooting
- Slot Technician III – 2–3 years of progressively responsible experience with slot and system integration
- Slot Technician IV / Bench Technician – Minimum of 3 years of slot technician experience with bench-level electronic repair background
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Progressive knowledge of slot machine components and internal architecture
- Must be able and willing to operate a forklift, which would require attainment of a forklift certification provided by UMCH
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, diagnostic devices, and software platforms
- Understanding of compliance procedures including Title 31, MICS, and system logs
- Bench Technician: Ability to read schematics, solder precision components, and safely repair electronic boards
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and adherence to timelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Oasis or similar casino systems
