Job Details   

This role is in the Housing Condition and supply team. This will be with a specific focus on Damp and Condensation, coordinating efficient response to tenant enquiries and working closely with the Building Services Preservation Team to deliver required repairs, and inspections. This will be the main focus of the role, a Housing Technical Officer will be required to cover a variety of works streams. Your skills in  this section should include: 

  • Repairs - Repair, maintenance inspections and any fire damage flood related visits and repairs. 

  • HRA budgets - Ensuring correct codes and budgets are being used. Looking after complex projects and updating everyone involved. Providing updates and guidance to rest of service 

  • Project and major works - Floods, storm damage and out of the ordinary incidents. Structural issues as well and recharges.   

  • Buy backs - From viewing to purchasing an ex-council property to organising the work with our contractor to handover to the area team for allocation.   

  • New builds - Delivery of new Build Housing Projects on a Fife Wide Basis, including 12-month post-handover repairs/defect support.   

  • Climate team - Delivery of insulation works internally and externally, delivery on EESSH2, dampness works and gas safety checks.   

  • EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) - Surveys are undertaken to identify elements requiring replacement along with ensuring Energy Performance Certificate 

  • SHQS (Component replacement and no access) - Compliance with the Scottish Housing Quality Standard through the running of the Component Replacement Programme 

  • Provide technical guidance and order work by use of appropriate systems (CX and CPM) and Tender procedures.   

  • Supervise the works to completion ensuring that Health and Safety Standards, Building Regulations and CDM regulations are adhered to. 

  • This can be a lone working role as well when out on-site visits. Training and lone working devices will be provided. 

  • There will be office time, working from home and traveling to site (travel expenses will be paid) 

  • There will be opportunities to do training and shadowing to learn new skills. 

  • PPE will be supplied and technology as well to do this role. 

The Person 

  • You should have a knowledge of Housing policies and practices.   

  • Direct experience with Damp and Condensation cases is preferrable.  

  • You should be able to provide a regular and effective service.   

  • You should be able to demonstrate communication skills and be customer focussed.   

  • You should also be a well organised individual to manage competing demands.
