Engineering Charge Hand
Job Summary
Responsible for organising work of fitters in a depot environment to ensure that all work is completed on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
• Organise jobs within the workshop or depot according to priorities and availability of staff and materials
• Manage any external contractors working at the depot
• Ensure Health & Safety policies are adhered to by both staff and visitors
• Monitor stock levels of materials and components
• Liaise with other departments regarding workloads and deadlines
• Keep accurate records of work done and maintain files as required
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the workshop or depot
Qualifications
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Experience in managing staff and dealing with H&S issues
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation
• Highly motivated with good leadership abilities
• Proven ability to take ownership and accountability for your area of work
• Experience in using computerised systems
