Position Summary

Seneca Polytechnic is seeking an experienced and solutions-oriented Manager, Operations to lead and enhance the operational and service delivery functions of SenecaWorks that support employees, students, and employer partners participating in Seneca’s Experiential and Career Education programming. The Manager, Operations oversees the daily management and continuous improvement of SenecaWorks systems, processes, and procedures to ensure the highest standards of efficiency, service excellence, and equity.

This role also provides strategic leadership in developing and implementing operational initiatives aligned with Seneca’s institutional goals and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Operations and Systems Management

  • Manage and coordinate all functions associated with the delivery of services across the department.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and evaluate operational needs.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance student and employer system processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Review and analyze procedures to support consistent and effective decision-making aligned with Seneca’s strategic direction.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and long- and short-term operational strategies.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors to ensure service delivery and optimization of systems and processes.
     

Project Management

  • Lead special projects and prepare written proposals, research, and analysis to support evidence-based decision making.
  • Maintain project documentation, monitor progress, and identify and mitigate risks.
  • Provide reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
     

Communication and Coordination

  • Serve as the primary contact for operational matters within the department.
  • Ensure effective communication within the office and with internal and external partners.
  • Participate on committees and working groups to evaluate and improve operational processes and policies.
     

Team Management

  • Establish objectives, delegate assignments, and oversee staff performance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance productivity and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Contribute to policy and strategy development that supports operational excellence.
     

Other Duties

  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of departmental and institutional goals.
     

What You Bring To Seneca


Education

  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
     

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Office or Operations Management, or a related area. Experience in a Work-integrated learning office or role is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
