Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday 11am to 7pm (Flexible)

What your day might look like:

  • Providing support and care to those engaged in services or treatment
  • Identifying healthy community opportunities for individuals to socialize and interact and promoting these opportunities including connection to peer support groups in the community.
  • Serve as an advocate, mentor, or facilitator to support the resolution of barriers. 
  • Supports collaboration and teamwork by sharing information and responding to questions/requests from rehabilitation team and other support providers

Your skills and qualifications: 

  • Must meet NYS Youth Peer Advocate credential or provisional credential qualifications
  • Direct experience with social, emotional, medical, developmental, substance use and/or behavioral challenges
  • Must be willing and able to use own lived experience with a disability, mental health challenge, substance use disorder, and experience in NYS systems such as juvenile justice, special education, and/or foster care to assist in supporting youth in their resiliency/recovery and wellness.
  • Have a high school diploma
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Local travel within Clinton County and surrounding counties
  • Flexibility in work days and hours to meet the needs of the program and clients served
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Complete the Youth Peer Advocate training and credentialing
        • Provisional credential will be completed no later than 2 months from hire date
        • Professional credential will be completed no later than 1 year from hire date
