State Fire is seeking a Fire Alarm Helper to join our growing team in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are a trusted regional fire protection company serving clients across Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, Colorado, and Wyoming. With more than 300 skilled professionals, we specialize in fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems, and fire extinguishers.

What You’ll Do

As a Fire Alarm Helper, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians and learn the trade from the ground up. You’ll assist with:

  • Installing, maintaining, and servicing fire alarm systems.
     
  • Supporting senior technicians during service and warranty calls.
     
  • Completing basic safety documentation and inspections.
     
  • Helping maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites.
     
  • Assisting with system testing and equipment setup.
     
  • Traveling occasionally to out-of-state projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Low-voltage or electrical experience preferred but not required.
     
  • Clear communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
     
  • Comfortable using mobile devices and reporting tools.
     
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
     
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
     
  • Willingness to travel overnight occasionally (travel and lodging provided).
     

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
     
  • Comfortable working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
     
  • Safely lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
     
  • Work effectively in both indoor and outdoor environments.
