Position Summary
Concordia University Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Performance seeks applicants for a full time (12-month contract) Exercise Science faculty position. Full-time faculty fulfill the university's mission to help students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world via teaching, scholarship and service. Faculty members participate in curriculum development and assessment, and advise and mentor students while serving as Christian role-models. All Concordia faculty are active members of Christian congregations; the university gives preference in hiring to members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). The anticipated start date is Summer 2025.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Exercise Science reports through the Chair of the Department of Health and Human Performance and the Dean of the School of Health Professions. This individual will:
- Teach designated courses (Approximately 24 credit hours per year) within the undergraduate Exercise Science curriculum. Classes include Advanced exercise physiology, exercise program design, exercise testing and prescription, and basic wellness courses.
- Serve as an academic advisor to students in the Exercise Science Program.
- Assist with program development and program assessment in the Department of Health and Human Performance.
- Provide service to the university in the form of participation on faculty committees and other activities at the department, university, and community level.
- Develop an active line of peer-reviewed academic research.
- Collaborate with faculty colleagues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to work within a Christian environment.
- Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
Education and Experience
- Doctorate in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field; ABD will be considered
- College teaching experience preferred.
- Certification through the NSCA or ACSM preferred
- Clinical exercise physiology experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
