Schedule: Mon-Fri 9-5p 

Wage Range: $20.00-$23.90 non-exempt, hourly

Position Overview:

 

Assists in the stocking of the food pantry and delivery of all internal and external food-related services. The daily work includes food box order preparation, answering phone for pantry needs, data entry, managing inventory, keeping a safe and organized workspace, creating a welcoming/positive environment, and working alongside all NARA NW programs.

 

What you will do:

 

•    Assist in fulfilling food orders for clients.
•    Travel to partnering agency for food pantry order pickups.
•    Answer phones for pantry needs.
•    Collect individual and household data as needed for intake and reporting.
•    Keep food sorted and stocked on pantry shelves in a safe and organized fashion.
•    Keep accurate food pantry records.
•    Perform all interactions in a personal and professional manner and be sensitive to pantry guests and their household needs.
•    Refer clients to a case manager or the appropriate staff for further resources beyond food.
•    Report any safety hazard immediately to supervisor, department head, and/or officer as deemed necessary.
•    Work collaboratively with the Food Pantry staff to accomplish common goals and objectives that promote the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
•    Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications


 

 

 

We would like to hear from people that have:

•    Maintain a food handler’s certification and practice food safety in all areas.
•    Ability to work in multiple computer programs agency wide.
•    Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
•    Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work in a timely fashion.
•    Ability to deliver services to those in need with compassion, clear boundaries, and good communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with clients. Ability to manage time. 
•    Ability to accurately complete tasks as assigned.
•    Ability to always maintain confidentiality. Adhering to 42 CFR and HIPPAA regulation
•    Ability to be open minded to new work ideas and methods.
•    Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. and climb ladders.
•    Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and policy and procedure manuals.
•    Have a valid drivers’ license/insurance and be willing to sign organizational documents necessary for driving company vehicles.
