Position Summary
Mill Creek Machining (MCM) is seeking a Production Coordinator for our Paullina, IA location. The Production Coordinator is responsible for tracking materials throughout the manufacturing process, tracking material orders, and ensuring adherence to the production schedule.
*This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 7:00am - 5:00pm. Our work area is 100% climate controlled. The hiring range for this position is between $50,000.00 - $65,000.00/yr. depending on experience*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Champion ERP Systems (such as: Job Boss/JB2), Including creating reports, and providing data for the management team and CMT.
- Establish and coordinate production schedules in a manufacturing environment to ensure the most efficient flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between or within the department; minimize downtime, reduce inefficiencies, and reduce excess inventory.
- Maintains communication with Customers.
- Drive improvements in production; prioritize and plan production activities to maintain on-time delivery, monitor execution of production orders, and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
- Work cross-functionally as part of the Production team to address equipment downtime, material shortages, and other unplanned obstacles to resolve issues.
- Coordinate processes for parts that have different procurement needs through communications with procurement manager.
- Manage the material handler, deburring/assembly, and warehouse team members’ position(s); avoid excessive inventory, inventory shortages, and inaccuracies within defined guidelines.
- Ensure a safe work environment is maintained by utilizing appropriate safety processes and systems.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5+ years related experience coordinating production and manufacturing is required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routing reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read precision gauges and visual accuracy.
- Ability to produce precision work.
