Duties

Serve as a Senior Inspector on complicated issues concerning the construction of a major power plant rehabilitation project, administering construction contracts expected to total approximately $20-30 million dollars.,Coordinate the work with Contractors' personnel and representatives of the using service to assure timely and satisfactory accomplishment of all contracts.,Analyze problems and reviews and interprets the requirement of plans and specifications for Contractor representatives and other interested persons.,Incumbent assures that materials incorporated into the construction work are in compliance with plans and specifications and approved shop drawings, and that items requiring laboratory testing are tested before use on the project.,Confer with Contractor's representatives on matters pertaining to interpretation of plans and specifications.,Recommend to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) that work stoppage be implemented on portions of the work where significant violations occur.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting investigations of construction sites to ensure conformance with plans or regulations; AND 2) Performing on-site inspections of construction by contractors to identify problems; AND 3) Recommending changes to construction plans or specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
