Position: Branch Quality Assurance Specialist

Department: Retail Operations

Reports To: Branch Quality Assurance Team Lead

FLSA: Non-Exempt                                        Grade: H 10

Summary

The Branch Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting the branch’s quality control processes by monitoring operations, ensuring compliance with internal standards, and reporting on any discrepancies or errors. This role assists in achieving consistent quality across branch operations, loan, and deposit services. The Specialist will work closely with the Quality Assurance Team Lead to ensure quality standards are met and support continuous improvement efforts within the branch.

Essential Functions

  • Performs day-to-day monitoring of branch, loan, and deposit operations to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and internal policies
  • Identifies and documents any discrepancies or errors in branch operations, loans, or deposits. Assist in tracking and resolving these issues as directed by the Team Lead
  • Monitors compliance with the Credit Union's internal policies and federal regulations. Report non-compliance or potential issues to the Team Lead
  • Works collaboratively with the Team Lead and other team members to identify opportunities for process improvements based on findings from quality monitoring
  • Supports the Team Lead in preparing for and responding to audits by gathering necessary data and documentation.
  • Understands and is familiar with all Retail Operation Procedures
  • Works with business process owners and managers to prioritize assurance activities and requirements based on risk to the credit union.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on quality assurance activities, error rates, and trends for review by the Team Lead.
  • Assist Branch Quality Assurance Team Lead with audit responses and additional support
  • Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Branch Quality Assurance Team Lead

Education

  • High School diploma is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.

Experience and Other Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years' experience in credit unions in a member facing and/or quality assurance role, preferably within a financial institution position
  • Familiarity with loan and deposit operations, including document requirements is preferred
  • Familiar with NCUA Rules and Regulations, Federal Credit Union Act, Keesler Federal Credit Union policies, procedures and systems operations desired.
  • On-going ability to keep abreast of changing policies and procedures.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, management, and department head and various agency personnel.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Computer Skills

  • Ability to operate a personal PC with high level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Internet Explorer, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software required
  • Experience and strong working knowledge of CRM is preferred 
  • Experience with core system software required
